    HISTORY.....

Orginally,this Chapter was the San Fernando Valley Nurserymen's Association and had independant status and activities even though many of its members were also C.A.N. members. It was, therefore, quite easy to become a Chapter of C.A.N. since the nucleus was already established and operating. This occured in 1941.

 It sponsored its first State convention in a most unique fashion with a week long cruise to Mexico with the convention site the T.S.S. FAIRSEA The theme was "Cruising is Heaven 77". Two State Presidents came from this Chapter. Selected as "Chapter of the Year" for outstanding activities in 1985, and again in 1988-89. Also many individual awards throughout the years.

Today the Chapter's Members come from all the San Fernando Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, Tehachapi and Thousand Oaks.

The California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers is a professional organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the Nursery Industry for it's Members and the public it serves.
